![]() There is another build that plays similar to this and also had bad DPS, and it isn't taming. The reason was they could almost 1 shot mid range mobs, then while you were looting they would restealth, then boom, 1 shot another mid range mob. Prior to the nerf, smoke dragon/smoke drake was probably the best farming pet combo and they were pretty bad in terms of DPS. I was really hoping you guys wouldn't start taking 0 wrestle battle trainer DPS as some sort of metric. I think all the templates here are pretty viable for PvM personally, though I wouldn't mind seeing dexxers tuned up so they can solo mid level mobs a bit easier. Tamers and Summoners also achieve pretty similar results, and dexxers are pretty bad at solo content, but work pretty well in groups. ![]() ![]() I wont argue that tamers aren't the best for farming mid and high level mobs though, but you also have to invest a lot more time into a tamer for the sole purpose of mid level farming and corrupted shrines, which is pretty inflexible. In practice doing 70 dps compared to 100 dps doesn't speed up the process up by much since the mobs you're killing only have around 600-800 hp usually, so i would argue that pets doing around 100 dps only looks worse than what it actually is achieving. I would also like to introduce the idea of a 'damage ceiling' that pets achieve, as their damage is often times very high to a point where there isn't a realistic difference between certain values. Doing a boss fight with pets requires a lot of micromanaging to a point where its not worth bringing them, and if they die you have to suffer a pretty bad rez penalty. If the game revolved around farming mid and high level mobs then I would agree, but I feel you're underestimating how much gold you get from bosses and how bad tamers are vs them. To me the answer is less clear cut and I think tunnel visioned a bit.
